This Moving Services Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between the Company and the customer named below (“the Customer,” “you,” or “your”).

1.Services

The Company agrees to provide residential moving labour and transportation as described above, which may include loading, transport, unloading, placement, and (where arranged) disassembly/reassembly of furniture and packing services. The specific services and crew size are as agreed between the parties at booking.

2.Rates & Charges (all amounts in Canadian dollars)

Hourly rate (truck and crew included): $139/hour for a 2-mover crew; $189/hour for 3 movers; $239/hour for 4 movers.
Minimum charge: three (3) hours of labour.
Travel fee: a one-time flat fee of $60 covering fuel, mileage and dispatch within our standard service area. Locations beyond the standard area may incur additional mileage charges, disclosed in advance.
Time billing: time begins when the crew arrives at the origin and ends when the move is complete at the destination. Time beyond the minimum is pro-rated and billed in 15-minute increments.
Surcharges (when applicable, disclosed in advance): stairs above the agreed floor, excessive long carries, and oversized or specialty items (e.g., pianos, safes, large appliances).
Packing materials: boxes, tape, wrap and other supplies are billed separately if provided by the Company.

3.Estimates

Any estimate provided is a good-faith approximation based on the information you provide. Because local moves are billed by actual time, final charges are based on the actual time and services rendered and may differ from the estimate if conditions differ from those described (e.g., additional items, access issues, or delays caused by the Customer).

4.Deposit & Payment

A booking deposit of 25% of the estimated total is due to confirm the reservation. The deposit is applied to your final balance.
The remaining balance is due upon completion of the move, before the crew departs.
Accepted payment methods: Interac e-transfer, cash, or other methods agreed in writing.
Overdue balances may accrue interest at 1.5% per month and the Customer is responsible for reasonable costs of collection.

5.Cancellation & Rescheduling

48+ hours’ notice: deposit fully refunded or applied to a rescheduled date.
Less than 48 hours’ notice: 50% of the deposit is retained to cover reserved crew/time.
Same-day cancellation or no-show: the deposit is forfeited.
The Company will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling subject to availability.

6.Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide an accurate description of the move, including any heavy, oversized, or specialty items;
Ensure safe, legal, and reasonable access at both locations (parking, elevator booking, clear pathways);
Have all loose items boxed and ready before arrival, unless packing services were purchased;
Personally remove and transport the prohibited and high-value items listed in Section 7;
Disclose any conditions (narrow stairs, long carries, etc.) that may affect the move.

7.Items We Do Not Transport

For your protection, the Company will not transport: cash, securities, jewelry, watches, important or irreplaceable documents, firearms or ammunition, hazardous, flammable, or explosive materials, perishable food, live plants, pets, illegal items, or one-of-a-kind irreplaceable valuables (unless separately agreed in writing). The Company is not liable for any such items that are moved without prior written agreement.

8.Pre-Existing Condition & Inspection

Before the move begins, the Customer and a Company representative will conduct a joint walkthrough. Existing damage to the home or items may be photographed and noted on the Pre-Move Condition Report (Form B). The Customer’s signature on that report acknowledges the noted pre-existing conditions. The Company is not responsible for pre-existing damage or for damage to items with inherent weaknesses (see Section 9).

9.Liability & Valuation Coverage

Basic coverage (included at no charge): the Company’s liability for loss or damage to goods is limited to $0.60 per pound (CAD) per article, consistent with standard industry practice in Canada.
Upgraded coverage (optional, additional fee): the Customer may declare a higher value and purchase upgraded protection by selecting an option on the Valuation Coverage Selection (Form A). Coverage applies only if selected and paid for before the move.
Exclusions — the Company is not liable for: items packed by the Customer (owner-packed boxes); pressboard/particle-board or self-assembled furniture; items with pre-existing damage or inherent defects; normal wear; mechanical or electronic failure with no external damage; or loss/damage caused by events beyond the Company’s reasonable control (Section 13).
The Company’s total liability shall not exceed the coverage option selected by the Customer.

10.Recording for Security & Quality

Vehicles and/or job sites may be monitored by camera for security, quality assurance, dispute resolution, and training purposes. By signing, the Customer consents to such recording during the provision of services.

11.Claims Procedure

Any loss or damage must be noted on the Inventory/Delivery Report at the time of delivery, before the crew departs.
A written claim must be submitted to the Company within thirty (30) days of the move date, with reasonable supporting detail and photographs.
The Company has the right to inspect the item and to repair, replace, or settle the claim at its option.
No claim will be processed until all charges owing have been paid in full.

12.Delays, Weather & Force Majeure

The Company is not liable for delays or non-performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, road or traffic conditions, vehicle breakdown, acts of God, or other force-majeure events. The Company will make reasonable efforts to notify you and reschedule.

13.Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. The Company’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the services is limited to the valuation coverage selected by the Customer, or, where none is selected, to the basic coverage described in Section 9.

14.Marketing Consent (optional — choose one)

The Customer may allow the Company to use non-identifying photos of moved items or completed work for marketing purposes. No personal or identifying information will be used without separate written consent.

15.Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally first. Any unresolved dispute shall be subject to the courts of Alberta.

16.Entire Agreement

This Agreement (together with Forms A and B) constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior discussions. Any amendment must be in writing and signed by both parties. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.

17.Acknowledgement & Signatures

By signing below, the Customer confirms they have read, understood, and agree to this Agreement, including the liability and valuation terms.

I have read and agreed to the Moving Services Agreement and selected my valuation coverage (Form A);
I have removed and will personally transport all prohibited and high-value items listed in Section 7;
The Pre-Move Condition Report (Form B) accurately reflects pre-existing conditions;
I will note any loss or damage on the Inventory/Delivery Report at delivery and submit any written claim within 30 days;
I release the Company from liability beyond the coverage I have selected and the terms set out in this Agreement.
